My Life, She is Good
OK, still haven't moved over to Grooming to be a dog bather, but that's because I'm working overtime as cashier. I hate cashiering, but I'm loving the overtime. Next week I get 42 hours as cashier, plus I work Memorial Day, and that's time-and-a-half as well. It works out to about ten hours time and a half. Loving it.
Plus, the head dog trainer told me that they might get a second trainer, and if so, would I be interested? I'd have to have about 80 hours of training, and lots of books and tests, before I could be a dog trainer, but that would be really cool. I'll be learning two dog-related skills then, bathing and dog training, which means that could get a job anywhere with those skills. Especially since pet-related jobs are on the rise. Also, since the PetChainStore I work for only uses positive reinforcement I'll be learning good training skills I can use with my birds.
We're training a new cashier, so I'm hoping that he starts working soon. They'll be able to cut my cashiering hours waaay back so I can go over to Grooming. I'll have to arrange something else if the head dog trainer gets the go-ahead to add another trainer, but I'll worry about that when it happens.
Life is gooood.
