DEMOCRATS TAKE THE HOUSE!

And while we didn't get a majority of the Senate, we did come Really, Really close. I am so happy. Bush and Cronies can suck my ass. And if any of you fuckers dare complain about it, and didn't vote, you lose. You lose bigtime. People who don't vote have no right to bitch about anything in the government, period.

On an unrelated note, my new firewall just flagged Livejournal as a possible scam. This does not increase my confidence in that program.

Actually, we don't know yet whether or not there is a majority in the senate. Montana has been decided for the Democratic contender so it is nearly evenly divided at 48 Democrat, 2 Independent (who caucus with the Dems), and 49 Republican with 1 seat still up for grabs.

That last seat is the race I voted in, Dem. Jim Webb vs Rep. George Allen. Webb is currently up by about 7,000 votes, but results from Virginia's voting districts won't be certified until Monday and nobody can file for a recount until they are made official on 11/27. Regardless of who is named winner, I think it is almost a foregone conclusion that there will be a recount declared.

It could be weeks until we know for certain who controls the Senate, but it's not lost yet.

Yeah, I just saw that. I made the mistake of looking at my newspaper instead of getting my news from CNN.com. But, worst case senario? We took the House, and are almost dead even in the Senate. In other words, the Republicans can't just do what they want anymore, and Bush had better watch out.

I am so happy.
