Thanks! Death is literally the anthropomorphic representation of Death, formed by consensual reality. She's also the most down-to-earth member of the Endless (the others being Destiny, Dream (the title character of the Sandman series), Destruction, Desire, Despair, and Delirium. They make up a pretty dysfunctional family) I totally recommend this series, although you might want to check it out of a library instead of buying it, since it's something like ten graphic novels $20US a pop. Totally worth it, though.
Both Hisana and Rukia are outsiders in the Kuchiki household, although I actually suspect that Rukia probably fits in better with them then Hisana did. JMO, though. It's probably a good thing that Byakuya has no idea who Hisana is now, although she might visit him in the Dreaming... *pets plotbunny*
