Yeah. The baby wasn't very old and had just started his life when he died. He probably didn't feel like he was ready to move on. Of course length of life doesn't matter as to whether someone's ready to move on or not, in Brief Lives (which was what I was more thinking of) there's that lawyer guy who was over 20,000 years old who is killed by a falling wall, he wasn't really ready to let go of life, either. Neither is Hob.
Hisana, though, I can see her being so filled with shame and regret over what she did that she wanted to wipe it all out, she didn't even want Rukia to know that they were sisters. Either that or eternal damnation Sandman style (ie, choosing to go to Hell in order to punish one's self for one's 'sins'. This conflicts somewhat with Bleach's canon, but oh well), but that wouldn't help RUKIA any. Wiping out the being or personality known as 'Hisana' while still being able to help Rukia would probably be Hisana's favorite option.
