Hawai'i was my lame attempt to have Robin and Amon go native. Correct Hawaiian spelling has the ' between two consecutive i's, I think. Apostrophes are in other places too, for example 'Alala is the Hawaiian name for the Hawaiian crow.
So, um, yeah. Hawai'i is correct. Maui is also Mau'i, etc.
As for Amon getting a promotion, that would be making it too easy for him, I think. He needs to have an asshat for a partner, so he can REALLY appreciate Robin ('Robin's not a complete dick, I wish I was still WORKING with her'). I kinda like the idea of an asshole like Bass. He's fun.
If Amon were more friendly and outgoing he could make a fortune doing guided tours and such. Maybe I'll give Robin a summer job, heh.
