It turns out the that the reason why we don't have power is due to several major power poles in the area being down. I guess poles and lines are down all over the place, because the pole down nearest to us is still hanging over the road (getting a bit lower each time I see it, yay). They were out here long enough to disconect the wires from said pole so that the downed lines don't kill anyone and to chop up the tree that took everything down, but that's it.

The lastest news is that a substation, not one of the ones that service us, has gone up in flames. Apparently people in the West Hills can see a gaint ball of fire coming from it. I was going to type that I felt that this meant that it would take even longer to get our electricity back, but a friend who lives near the downed pole JUST called us and said that a PGE truck just rolled in and has started repairs, so with any luck we will have power by morning. Yay for realz!

My reptiles are all doing good. I made the mistake of running my iguana's mercury vapor bulb while it was on a genarator, and as a result burned out a $75 bulb. My nine gallons of hot water has worked great, temperatures stabilized in the cage at 71*F, still not really hot enough, but at least not freezing. Radar hasn't eaten anything, but I think this has more to do with the fact that he's sharing his cage with another, smaller cage+nine one gallon waterbottles. I think it just freaked him out. The chameleon is much more active today, I think he's looking for food. I didn't feed him this morning because I didn't want the crickets chewing on him if he was torpid, but it all looks good now.
