Getting Ready

Well, the date is confirmed. I am leaving on Feb. 9 for Maui. I will be getting there at 2:30pm local time, which is perfect as far as I am concerned. I’ve sold all the finches, and arraigned for Bob Wheeler http://www.onemorebird.com/ to foster home the cockatiels (C.J, Jr., Baby, and the old man, Birdi), the turquoisine parakeets (Mom and Male#2), and Wesley the Black-Capped Conure. Boy, I’m going to miss them, but at least I get the psitticenes back.

Mom gave me $200 US for clothing and supplies. I’m not sure I’ll spend it all, though! I need shorts, underwear and socks, and sun lotion. I’m also going to buy enough of the teas I like, and make sure I have enough of my favorite books in paperback. Really, that’s about it. I’m just about the least cloths-horsey person I know. I really hate cloths shopping. I hate the people and the sales clerks. Retail, ick.

Tomorrow Autumn is bringing Kai over while she goes to Texas for the Parrot Festival. Kai’s a White Fronted Amazon and he’s just the cutest little thing I’ve ever seen. He has a super cute little Amazon voice, and the way he says “Hi Kai!” just melts my heart. I wish I could get another parrot right now (as opposed to foster homing or rehomeing my birds, LOL) or I would buy him. What a cutie.
