So, for the last seven months, roughly, I've been living off some money I inherited because I am a lazy/coward/in a rut/take your pick. I finally got off my not-as-fat-as-it-used-to-be ass and applied at Concord for the Dental Assistant program, thinking that I would get in the March or April class. I find out as I go in to apply that they had someone drop out at the last second from their February class. Which starts next week.

I am freaking out. I would be more freaked out, except my new hobby is called Going To the Gym And Running Like Five Miles Every Day and I am just too damn tired (not to mention sore) to be a nervous wreck. Also, surprise surprise, my insomnia has completely disappeared and I am able to fall asleep at a half-way descent hour. Who needs Lunesta when you have physical exhaustion?

The class time is absolutely perfect, 8am to 12pm, even though it's on the other side of Portland from me. I'm going to have compensate for morning traffic, which is going to suck a bit, especially going over the bridge and getting off at the OMSI exit. But then I shouldn't complain. It could be worse. I could be living in Seattle. Or Los Angeles.

Anyways, the program I'm in will finish up (including the externship) in October, and the starting wage is between $12-18/hr. Concord is fully certified in Oregon, including X-ray certification, so when I graduation I will be able to get higher wages then people who attend non-certified programs (like most of them are, lol). So I am super excited.

There is also a good chance me an my sister may rent a two-bedroom together. The doubles at my apartment complex are way nicer then the singles, the building the doubles are in are newer for one thing, and from what I've seen theres new carpeting and dishwashers and everything. Even a balcony (which would be nice). I've been meaning to talk to the manager, but with one thing and another I haven't gotten around to it. In a way I'm kinda scared too. I have a lot of pets. No, seriously, I have six birds (in two cages), an iguana, a plated lizard, a chameleon, a betta fish, a ball python, and a pair of dart frogs. They know I have birds, but not how many, and the iguana is clearly visable from the street and no one's had a problem with that, but I'm afraid that if they do find out I'm screwed. I've been sublimating my desire for MOAR pets by buying orchids and air plants, lol. And my betta got a new tank today. (and hey, it only takes me an hour in the morning to clean all those cages. I have a system) But still...

My sister has a cat. Maybe sharing an apartment with her isn't such a good idea. Hmmm.
