platedlizardOkay, so teh new chapter is now out (at least the speed scanalation over at Bleach7 ), and I am still not sure how horrified I am.
I have to say, I am not entirely surprised. I KNEW when Szael introduced his power, Fornicarus, that NOTHING good could come of it. Fornicarus=fornication anyone? And Kubo has proved me right. Nemu is basically tentacle-raped--the tentacle is shown puncturing her stomach, this being the closest this type of magna can come to the more graphic stuff--and she 'gives birth' through her mouth after her belly swells disturbingly. It was established in the Soul Society Arc that Mayuri doesn't care about Nemu, treating his 'daughter' (actually a modsoul/gigai made from his genetics, I think) as a thing, rather than a person. As a result he places her in a situation where she is captured by Szael, who is able to impregnate her, and then kill her when he is reborn.
Nice.
Can I say now that I am really, really sick of this fight? I'm sick of it. Szael is Espada #8. Byakuya just took Espade #7 (PumpkinMan!) down all by himself, RUKIA took down Espada #9 by herself (with just a shikai, no less!). Ichigo defeated Grimmjow, Espada #6. And yet Szael has managed to pwn Ishida, Renji's bankai, and survive Mayuri's bankai. I don't know if we can say Ishida is captain-level (he SEEMS to be near it), but Mr. Number Eight has managed to hold off/defeat two captain-level shinigami, when other, more powerful, Espada would probably have been defeated. This would be cool if he wasn't such alame characterrapist.
Kubo better end this fight really quickly, because I, for one, am getting fucking sick of it.
The rest isn't too bad. Rukia wakes up to Isane healing her, she and Byakuya talk. He basically tells her not to worry about him (he was injured in the fight with Espada #7), and to let Isane finish healing her because the 'real fights' are going start soon. Hanataro is fine (yay!) Chad wakes up and Captain Unohana (CAPTAIN MOM!) senses the fighting going on. Kenpachi and Nnorita (my spelling is off on that one, Espada #5) look like they're having fun. Nnorry is probably just scared shitless, but Kenny is probably having the time of his life. And Ichigo, who should be knicknamed Mr. Stupid Head, asked Orihime to heal Nell first, even though I think he's worse off. Since Orihime is his bitch she does it. (I like her, when she's not weeping over Ichigo. I want the old Orihime back, the one that makes up new ball games and draws herself as a robot with lasers and boob-missiles).
I liked the Rukia-Byakuya interaction. He's not the sort to hover, but he does seem rather concerned for her, which is sweet. I wish (oh how I wish) the chapter could have focused on that scene and the Nnorry/Kenny fight instead of Mr. Fornication.
Ah well, at least the new movie is about Hitsugaya. I think I can forgive Kubo.
