Writing and such.
Dec. 8th, 2006 08:49 amThe last week has been blah. Ms. Negativity from my previous post is now pissed off at me, because I did not torpedo my career like she did in solidarity. Duh, you be all negative at the Store Director, you declare that It Is Totally Impossible To Do It, you refuse to even try, you turn over the class schedualling to said Store Director because you don't want to do it anymore...don't be surprised if another trainer who decided to give it a real go and not be all negative about it gets most of the prime times. And don't be pissed off at her.
Yeah, I had fun Monday.
As for my writing... Something about this situation has impelled me to start writing again. I don't know if it's frusteration, or if it's just that if I were making a living writing then I wouldn't have to put up with that kind of bull shit from co-workers. I don't know. I've been following Uncle Jim's Lecture on writing proffessionally, and trying to follow it as much as possible. The biggest thing I have been aplying is his two hour rule. That is, for two hours a day, rain or shine, sickness or health, write original prose for two hours straight. Research doesn't count. Revision doesn't count. Outlining doesn't count. Only original prose does. So far I've doubled my WIP and am actually forming a coherant story. I can tell that it is going to need a great deal of revision, but I am being strong and forcing myself to not mess with it until I have a complete rough draft down. When I do have a rough draft and a couple of revisions down then I'll probably ask you kind folks if you would be willing to beta for me. But that won't be fore another few months if I work on this steadily.
The story's really cool though. So far I've decided it's a Romance (although it could change genres at any moment). Only write what you are interested in, that's my motto.
