oh ebay...

Okay, so I had this really old Dell Inspiron 1150 or whatever that I sold on ebay for $158. The guy got it today, and he isn't happy, and made it very clear. Apparently it overheated, which it never did when I used it (which, admittedly, was years ago), and the ethernet is not working (which I never said it did, hell, I didn't even use it). I didn't say in my ad that it worked perfectly or was like new or anything like that, and I said that it was used and that they were buying it as is.

Part of me feels bad about selling something someone was obviously unhappy about, but part of me is really mad that he didn't ask me any questions about the computer (like, has this been to a shop to be fixed, can you check the ethernet, etc which I would have done if he asked). I'm not a computer person, so it's not like I even thought to do these things.

He left bad feedback and I left a response, so hopefully it won't go further. He did say in a message to me that he nearly decided to dispute it, but I guess he double checked the auction and realized I had put that I'm selling it as is, with no refunds or returns. Frankly, if I'm a buyer, that would have been red flag. It is an old computer that I used in in the early 00's, and there was no way I can garruntee quality.

What amused me was that he was bitching about how he's a computer repair shop... so why doesn't he fix it? Oh wait, that might bite into his profit margin, haha.
