The Season of Giving

Tis the Season, I guess. Check out these guys, http://www.kiva.org/ . Kiva is a micro-loan organization. What they do is set up a system where someone like me can loan, say, $25, to a farmer (or whatever) on the other side of the world for them to set up a business. They pay it back over the course of 6-14 months, depending on the type of the loan. This is a loan, not a donation, you get the money back eventually (but you don't earn interest). I think it's pretty cool, unlike those 'sponsor a child' programs you aren't just giving them the basics, you are helping them build a business and improve their lives. It's pretty cool, and something tells me I might become addicted to this site. If you have $25 and want to do some good, this is the organization for you.
